Science
The department is
imparting education in Mathematics at the U.G. level since the beginning of
the college i.e. 1956 and P.G. teaching in mathematics started in the year
1981.With a view and need of the science education, department is expanded
by adjoining computer faculty from 1991.
At present, the
department is engaged in teaching mathematics, computer science at both U.G.
and P.G. level. Students also can opt computer Applications at B.Sc. level
which is a vocational subject run with the financial assistance of
University Grants Commission.
We mention here few
faculty members who rendered their services to the department and these
dignatories are either retired on superanuation or joined other
institutions. Shri. S. K. Tekurkar, Dr. G. R. Shendge , Shri. R. G. Dhat ,
For Dr. S. S. Deshmukh, Dr. S. R. Joshi worked as a faculty member, Head of
the department, research guide and retired in 2000.At present it has two
departmental colleagues Dr. P. S. Prayag and Shri. B. S. Joshi
Most of the faculty
members working in the department have either completed their B.Sc. or M.Sc.
from the Institution itself. Department organize lectures of eminent persons
frequently for U.G. and P.G. students and maximum efforts are made for the
generation of knowledge.All departmental colleagues are always prepared in
all matters related to academic, co-curricular, extracurricular activities
and help administration in all respect to enrich qualities of students.
The Dept. of Computer
science is the most populous dept in the college. It offers B.Sc.,
B.Sc(comp.Applications),BCS courses at UG level.Similarly it is conducting
PG course i.e.,M.Sc. since 1992.We have XI,XII level MCVC and IT
courses. The department has two well equipped laboratories and students can
handle computers individually. The Internet facility is also available in
the department. At present there are seven lecturers doing there best to
fulfil the students demands.

department has 65 computers, LCD Projector and other computer accessories.Dr.
Dinkar Ambekar was kind enough to make generous donations for the purchases
of Computers and other accessories. We have planned to erect one more
computer laboratory and a computer centre with the financial assistance from
U.G.C. or donations from ex-students or from other quarters of the society. |
